せっかく「366日誕生石の本」を買ったので、ご紹介していきたいなと思います。

古代ローマで行われた豊穣神ルパーカスに捧げる日。
羊を狼から防ぐために始まった宗教的行事として古く、長く祭りが続いてきました。
祭典では山羊皮の腰帯をした神官(男)が市街中を鞭を持って走り回ります。
途中で出会う女性たちを鞭でピシピシと打ちながら。
それは悪霊や侵略者から街を守る意味と、不妊の女性が多産を授かるおまじない。
後には鞭は受難のキリストのエンブレムともなり、呪われた不妊が治ると信じられていました。
女性の断末魔の苦しみ、それはお産。
その苦しみを和らげてくれるお守りとされた宝石がジルコン。
ソフトか色調のピンク・ジルコンは女性に必要な護身符といえる宝石かもしれません。
ダイヤモンドに近い光沢を示す、かなり魅惑的な天然石です。
